Girls Fellowship
Inauguration of the Girls Fellowship
Sunday March 27th 2011 marked the inauguration of the Girls Fellowship of the Ghana Calvary Methodist United Church, Toronto. The girls, who were dressed in their beautiful yellow traditional kabba (blouse) and slit (skirts), were introduced to the congregation for confirmation of the fellowship and acceptance of their executives and caretakers. The girls, who made the occasion memorable, sangs in the local language (twi) to the delight of the congregation. They even made the occasion more interesting by reciting bible verses from memory all in the local dialect. An introduction of their executives and caretakers were made and ushered to their various duties. With support from the congregation, some members of the various organizations in the church offered to be patrons of the fellowship and to contribute to their welfare. The chairpersons of the event, Mr. and Mrs. Kofi Asampong gave their closing remarks urging the congregation to help in the up bringing of the girls to be good Christians, and also to nurture them to become professionals and good leaders within the community.
